Volunteers
Volunteers are an integral part of the functioning of Matthew House, and both occasional and regular commitments are appreciated. An application form and interview form part of our intake procedures and upon successful completion of this process, a mutually satisfying volunteering schedule will be arranged. Our valued volunteers assist us in areas such as:
- Language translation
- Orientating people to Canadian society
- Being a friend
- Teaching English
- Cleaning
- Cooking/baking
- Driving/escorting people to appointments
- Apartment searching
- Repairs and maintenance
- Garage organizing and cleaning
- Donation pickup and delivery
- Newsletter
- Social events coordination
- grocery shopping for the house!
- Fundraising!
